Anti-Spam

On a message board I belong to, a question was posed regarding what products we use for SPAM prevention. Over the course of a few emails on the subject, I noticed that many used the SPAM blocker than required users to verify their email address in order for the message to be delivered to the intended recipient.

If you know anyone who uses a service like this, you will notice that it is quite cumbersome, not to mention annoying to use. Frankly, I just don’t have to the time to continuously “click to verify” my email address. If I contact a company that uses a product like this, I click away just as fast as I arrived.

On the message board, rather than put down a service like the above, I shared my favorite product which is Cloudmark. Lo and behold, I received an email from Barbra Sundquist of OfficeStuffer.com who asked if she could quote my comments on her blog. You can see my anti-spam recommendation here.

Get Cloudmark’s 30 day free trial today…you’ll be glad you did!

I agree–Cloudmark is a phenomenal product–for Outlook/OE users.

I don’t use either.

I protect my in-box with Spam Arrest, which is one of the services you mentioned not liking because it requires a person to verify him/herself in order to get email through to me.

When I signed up for my account, I pre-approved most of the people who routinely write to me. Generally, I find most people have no issue with the verify thing; those who do are always free to not verify. I do review my spam filter weekly, and although I rarely have any email of note caught there, if I do, I authorize the sender myself.

Just a perspective from the other side of things :)
